Information we handle
- Account and identity: name, phone number, email address, account role, password hash, and Google account identifier when Google sign-in is used.
- Rider application and profile: contact details, vehicle type, service area, availability, emergency contact, experience, application notes, approval status and operational profile details.
- Delivery operations: assignment and order identifiers, delivery status, pickup/drop-off information needed to complete an assigned delivery, shift and availability information, delivery history and earnings/compensation records.
- Location and delivery addresses: customers may choose to request foreground device location while confirming a saved delivery address and may move a map pin to the exact delivery entrance. Afghan Eats stores the confirmed latitude/longitude with the customer's saved delivery address so the assigned rider can reach the correct handoff point. The Customer app does not continuously track the customer and does not request background location. For approved riders, foreground device location is used only while a live server-authorized delivery and location sharing are active; the Rider app does not request background location permission, and live rider coordinates are cleared when delivery is completed.
- Notifications and device: Expo push token, mobile platform and app version used to deliver operational notifications.
- Support and chat: messages and, when the user chooses to attach one, a JPEG, PNG or WebP image selected from the photo library. Camera and microphone access are disabled in the current Rider app.
- Technical and security data: timestamps, authentication/session information, request and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, review rider applications, assign and complete deliveries, show live delivery progress, provide navigation and operational alerts, calculate and display rider operational records, provide support, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain service reliability and comply with lawful obligations.
Who may receive information
Information is limited to people and providers that need it for the service. This can include Afghan Eats operations staff, the restaurant and customer connected to an active delivery, and service providers used for hosting, maps, authentication, push notifications and secure media delivery. Live rider location is exposed to the verified customer only for the assigned active order and only while tracking is current. We do not sell personal information.
Permissions and user choices
The Customer app asks for foreground location permission only when the customer chooses to use current location for an exact delivery address; customers may instead enter coordinates manually and can adjust the delivery pin before confirmation. The Rider app asks for notification permission for delivery alerts, foreground location permission when live delivery tracking is required, and photo-library permission only when the rider chooses an image for secure chat. Users may deny device permissions, although the related location or delivery functions may then be unavailable.
Retention and deletion
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for account administration, delivery operations, support, security, dispute handling, financial records and lawful obligations. Sensitive customer details cached in the Rider app are designed to be removed from local assignment state after delivery. Riders may request account and associated personal-data deletion through our data deletion page or by emailing support@afghaneats.net. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting or law; when retention is required, access is limited to the relevant purpose.
